Get together lunch with the base

The Get Together lunches have been running at Castle Community hub since March 2018. They are usually held once a month and are primarily for the elderly or isolated members of our local community. They provide not just a free two-course meal, but an opportunity to socialise and make friends.

We have recently partnered with The Basement Project in Huddersfield, who are kindly providing volunteers to cook and serve the food. The Basement Recovery Project is an independent self-help, not for profit, charitable organisation, based in Halifax, Calderdale & Huddersfield and Dewsbury in Kirklees. They offer support and inspiration to those people who are involved with alcohol and / or substance misuse, and give them the opportunity of a new sustained abstinent lifestyle – recovery from addiction.
