One off sessions and short courses  

To take part in any of the following course you need to reserve yourself a place, you can do this by letting the receptionist know at your child’s school, by emailing.castlecommunityhub@kirkleeseducation.uk or calling 01484 226834 and asking for the Castle Community Hub.  All our courses are free of charge.

Foundation stage Maths

Tuesdays 9.15-11.45 am, through the summer term.

We all need good Maths skills and this course can help you to improve yours.  This course is run by Kirklees College.

ESOL 

Mondays, 9.15 - 11.45 am, through until 27th June

Kirklees College will be delivering a 'English as a second language course' for people that want to develop their speaking, understanding and written skills. 

Speakeasy - Parenting Programme 

Monday 26th February until 21st May (10 weeks), 1-3pm

Would you like to be more confident discussing sexual health and relationships with your child? This course is designed to support for children and young people of all ages. The group sessions will cover:

  • puberty
  • social and cultural attitudes
  • stereotypes and the media 
  • pressure on young people
  • contraception
  • sexually transmitted infections
  • strategies for keeping young people safe from harm
  • sex and relationship education in schools

  

NEW COURSES and one off sessions FOR JUNE

Mother & Daughter Make-up Camp

Thursday 7th, 14th and 21st June 3.30 - 5.30 pm

The camp covers day make-up, evening, glamour and special effects over the 3 sessions. A demo is given on a look before the attendees are given the chance to recreate their own version. The camp is aimed at Year 6 children, it is free of charge and funded by Community Learning Works. All the products are provided but you can bring your own makeup if you prefer.  Places are limited to 12 (6 children/6 adults), please send an email with your child’s name, year group and school if you are interested in this activity.
