self defence and personal safety

Monday 25th March 5 -6.30 pm

Castle Community Hub are running a one off self-defence and personal safety session at Newsome Junior School on Monday 25th March at 5.00 – 6.30 pm.  The session is open to women of all age who live or work in Newsome and the surrounding area.

There are 20 places available, you will need to book a place if you would like to attend.  There will be a kid’s club (for children aged 5-13) that will run at the same time, making it easier for people to attend – children will need to be booked in advance too.

Family First Aid at BErry BRow School

Tuesday 9th April 8.45 - 10.45 am

A one off session in Vera’s at Berry Brow School.  The session will give you practical experience of how to deal with bleeding, choking and burn incidents in the home, there will also be opportunity to learn about CPR.  On the morning of the session you are welcome to come into Vera’s from 8.30 am for a quick cuppa before the session starts.

If you would like to come along, please sign up at the Berry Brow school office or at the hub.There are only nine places and we will be allocating them on first come first served basis.

Nature’s Footprints are running these relaxed friendly sessions through March and April              

MAths 

          Tuesdays 9.15 - 11.45 am

          Assessment session on 18th of September, sessions commence on the 25th September.

We all need good Maths skills and this course can help you improve yours. Run by Kirklees College.     

PAper crafts  

          Tuesday 19th March till Tuesday 7th May from 1.00 - 3.00 pm

A six week course run by Calamity Jayne that focuses on Paper Crafts.  Jayne will share lots of different ideas and paper craft techniques and include some Mother’s Day and Easter making.  This course will also include a group visit to S2R in Huddersfield to see what crafting goes on there.

Wednesdays 9.15 - 11.45 am

          Assessment session on 19th of September, sessions commence on the 26th September

          Develop confidence and have better communication skills. Run by Kirklees College.

Esol           

          Fridays 9.15 - 11.45 am. Starting on the 23rd January

Develop your reading, writing, speaking and listening on this free course run by Talk English
