Volunteering in Schools

Mondays, 9.30 - 2.30 pm Starting September 17th through until the 17th December

The course aims to help you gain a better understanding of the school curriculum, how a school is organised and run, and how pupils develop and learn. It will also develop self-confidence, increase skills in communication (both written and oral) and classroom management, as well as help develop a range of specific practical skills. The course is accredited and will enable you to gain a Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools when combined with 2 hours per week volunteering in a school.

special educational needs - with Family Links          

Wednesdays, 1-3 pm Starting on September 26th through until 4th December

Do you have a child with Special Educational Needs or a Disability? Would you like life at home to be calmer and less stressful? S.E.N Family Links is a fun programme, delivered in a relaxed manner, giving you the opportunity to share your experiences and knowledge with other parents in a similar situation. You will learn strategies for coping with challenging behaviour, managing feelings and reducing conflict in your family.

£1 meal makers

          Thursdays, 12-3 pm Starting on September 27th through until 18th October

          This fun cookery course will have you competing in teams in a 'Come Dine With Me' style competition.              You will learn basic nutrition skills and how to make the most of your budget to create healthy, tasty                  meals for yourself and your family.
